I made a mason jar centerpiece using pallet wood, mason jars, chalk paint and a bees wax/mineral oil finish.
First I made calk paint using 3 parts paint, 1 part plaster of paris and water. This recipe is compliments of DIYTyler. I painted the jars, scraped some of the paint off to give it a rustic look and sealed them with a bees wax and mineral oil finish.
Using pallet wood I made a simple tray to fit the 3 jars. Then I soaked fine steel wool in white vinegar for a week, then brushed that solution on the pallet wood tray.
Watch the embedded video and watch how I made it and also learn to make your own chalk paint.
