Hello Guys,
Welcome back to MyATCtv DIY recycled projects!
This time I came up with an easy to make pallet wood storage unit. In this time of quarantine, I will share different types of storage shelves with you every week.

Create a beautiful pallet wood storage with recycled pallets in no time!
Wood storage rack solutions are abundant, but the buying prices can be shocking. In this time of quarantine, you can create your own wood storage shelves from pallets.
Pallet wood storage shelves are a great option for a number of reasons. First of all, it is pocket friendly as pallets do not cost you much as readymade storage units do.
Secondly, making a storage unit from pallets is very easy and quick as well. With just a few modifications, your wood storage rack is ready. Also, you can store anything from lightweight items to heavyweight items with ease.
Where Can You Get the Pallets?
You can easily find the recycled pallets at small local shops, manufacturing businesses, and local pallet recycler and distribution centers.
Now, when you have the pallets, let’s start the procedure
First, let us make a list of tools or things that we need to create a pallet wood storage rack.
Wood pallets
Pencil
Measuring tape
Miter saw
Screwdriver
Disc sander
Green paint
Protective oil
4cm screws
Wood adhesive
Drill machine and angle clamp
3D PLan
and more below...
We put together a list of some of the tools used in the shop on our Amazon Store (affiliate link), if you'd like to support what we do, shop through this link: MyATCtv Amazon Store
Below, I am sharing some pictures and drafts of DIY pallet wooden storage shelves that will help you in making an attractive unit for your garage or home.
STEP 1: Dismantle the pallets
First, I will disassemble the pallets as I only need wood slats for making the storage shelves. I will use a reciprocating saw to cut the wood slats through nails. After that, I will deny all the wood slats one by one.
Now, I have wood slats of different sizes which I can use to create a wood storage rack.
STEP 2: Cut the Wood Slats to Required Sizes
For this project, I will need five 1m60cm long pieces, ten 80 cm long pieces and many 42 cm long pieces of pallet wood. The longer pieces will be the support of the storage rack, and the 80cm pieces will be the support of shelves.
I will make a mark of required measurements on each slat and will make a cut with the help of my miter saw.
STEP 3: Remove Splinters from the Wood Slats
I will use my disc sander to remove the splinters from the wood slats and to make them smooth. I will roll on my disc sander on all sides of all wood slats to make the surface even, smooth and clean.
STEP 4: Apply paint on the 1m60cm long Slats
Now, I will paint the large pallets of length 1m60cm with neon green color. This will give a beautiful look to the pallet wood storage shelves.
STEP 5: Create Base for Shelf of Storage Unit
I will use two 80 cm long wood slats for making the base or support of a storage shelf. I will place these slats parallel to each other at some gap and will place 42 cm long slats on them.
STEP 6: Placing Smaller Wood Slats on Base of Shelf
Now I will place or fix 42 cm slats on the base of shelves. I will start with placing first, and the last slat on the support as this will make it easy to arrange other slats in the gap.
I will use my adhesive to fix the slats at a gap of 1cm between each 42 cm slat. This is how I will create all the shelves needed for making a pallet wood rack
STEP 7: Give Rustic Effect to the Shelves
To give a rustic look to the storage unit, I will use brown oil on them and then use transparent liquid over it for shine. This will not only make shelves look more attractive but also protect the wood from getting rotten.
STEP 8: Assembly of the Pallet Wood Storage
Now I am going to join all the parts together to create an impressive wood storage rack. For this, I will use 4 cm screws and a drill machine.
First, I will make two holes on the bottom and top of 1m60cm long slats with my drill machine. Also, make the holes on longer slats at a gap of 78 cm for fixing shelves.
I will fix the top and bottom shelf first and then the other three shelves at the gap of 78cm. In the end, I will fix a fifth longer slat at the back of the rack to give it full support.
Finally, the pallet wood storage rack with five shelves is ready to use. You can place it in your kitchen, garage, room or bathroom to store anything, including bottles, toilet paper, mask, and more.
