The history of the Adirondack chair starts in 1903 in the heart of Westport Adirondack mountains. Mr Thomas Lee, dissatisfied with its garden furniture decided to make the best lawn chair in the world for observing nature, read, eat, drink, relax. He made several prototypes and had them tested by the 22 members of his family. With planks and nails, he created this chair for use both inside and outside, provided with wide armrests for placing things and a small footstool. His chair was patented in 1905 for a period of 25 years under the name Westport Chair and was distributed only around Westport. Today, however, these chairs are manufactured in the world from USA to China. There are cedar, teak, plastic, painted and many more options available.
