Carpets or rugs are widely used in Europe and the United States. They give a lovely sensation when you walk over them and offer interesting aesthetic possibilities. They can be used to unify spaces but also mark off zones and areas of activity. Due to the colors, textures, and finishes they come in, they permit solutions for our interior design.
Carpets are also popular because of the acoustic and thermal insulation they provide. They are suitable for all the rooms in the house. Well maybe not the bathroom or kitchen unless you are prepared to make the extra effort to ensure they do not get wet or stained when bathing or cooking.
Carpets are not the most hygienic of floors. Therefore when you shop for a carpet take into consideration its texture, pile, weight, density, color, and design. Most carpets are made of sheep's wool, which is durable, dyed readily and handled easily.
Do not use carpets if you have pets or if you or your family members are allergic to dust because they get dirty easily. Vacuum them regularly so that neither dust nor dirt accumulates in them. Make sure that when you put them on the floor, they are designed for floor use because some carpets are intended for wall use only. Avoid spills because stains are hard to remove and even though they are made of delicate material, they don’t stand so well with humidity.
