Most of the time we always tend to directly o for easy solution and buy things to we could it ourselves.
In this project I have found some long slat of pallet wood in my neigborghood then decided to re-design my garden door using those reclaimed wood.

As always, I will be sharing with you the tools and materials + a free interactive plan to do it yourself at the following link: Check out PORTI
The first step taken here was to dissemble all the pallets and remove nails using my hammer.

After this was done, time to move to the next step by reducing the wood thickness from 2.2 cm to 1 cm.

Basically this is what it's going to replace. (this previous cover was made 2 years ago when we move to this house.

Then when this was done, I have decided to apply a wooden burning effect to the wood to highlight the texture.

And that was the result at the end:

After this was done, it was time for me to move to the cutting part and also make the upper fence side of this design.

Then when all the small slat were cut, I have decided to smother the edges and use my chamfer bit ( for all 4 sides)

And note that I have also decied to apply the edges cut to the long slat as well.

After that was done, it was time for me to attach the smal slat to the upper 8 by 4 Lumber and note that I will be here using my nail gun.

Et Voila!!! a new door cover for your garden door using pallets!!!
